Description

In this lesson,students learn to introduce themselves.As a teacher,we will guide our students through tasks and activities.Keeping the instructions simple is important.Through the session we enable our students to recognize the target language.By the end of each session,production must be noticed.

Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of introduction.
  • To provide clarification of verb be in the context of introduction

  • To provide clarification of numbers

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

For this lesson, we can introduce ourselves to our students in different fun ways.I plan to give my students some info about myself and other characters and I want my students to guess which character is me.Then,I'd give them some time to make some characters and this time I will guess which one is about my students.

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

In this part, the students will listen to the audio for the first time.I'd give them some questions after they've listened the audio.(f.e:Who is Lisa talking to?)

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

Now, I'd assign tasks.(f.e:sentence completion) The students will listen to the dialogue again and complete the sentences.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

In this part,I'd ask my students to make their own dialogue.I'd give them another situation and tell them to make a story about it on their mini boards.(f.e:You've met someone you don't know in your gym)

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

In this part,I'd work on word stress and vocabulary through some tasks and activities.Production is clinical.Review is necessary.
