Description

In this lesson, students will practice fluency on the context of retelling a new story.

Materials

Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in the context of retelling a new story (e.g. sleeping habits)

  • To analize and identify connected speech

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

- Get attention from students. - Check that they can see and hear me well. - Provide instructions to answer the questions individually. - Teacher collect answer from students (1 min) - Share answers and provide feedback.

Content Preparation (4-6 minutes) • To prepare students for the content of the task

- Get attention from students. - Provide instructions (e.g., Teacher will provide a demo of the task. Teacher will provide instructions for the speaking task) - Breakout rooms for 4 minutes to discuss the questions in the link - Monitor. - End up breakout rooms. - Share de answers. - Provide feedback.

Language Preparation (6-8 minutes) • To infer the meaning from text and clarify the form and pronunciation of the language needed for the task

- Get attention from the students. - Provide instructions to students to discover the suggested language content. - Share Jamboard link. - Breakout rooms. - Monitor. - End breakout rooms. - Compare the answers and provide feedback. - Share slide 5 from the presentation. - Analize with students MFP of three fixed phrases.

Speaking Task (18-20 minutes) • To provide opportunity to practice speaking fluency and expand on what's been learned

- Get attention from students. - Ask them to go to Menti to brainstorm about what happens when we don't get enough sleep to increase vocabulary for the final task. - Look at the answers in the screen. - Show the final task in the screen and send the link. - Breakout rooms. - Monitor. - En breakout rooms.

Feedback & DEC (4-6 minutes) • To provide learners with feedback and inform them of how they did with regards to content and language used
