In this lesson the Ss will learn the phrases that will help them to learn those phrases to talk about their free time activities.T will move to the listening exercises that will help the Ss a lot in improving their skill of listening.

Main Aims

  • To provide specific information in a listening practice , using a text about free time activities.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice of free time activities' phrases. (vocabulary)


Warmer/Lead-in (5-6 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T will divide the Ss into two groups.Each group will stand in one line with their backs to the WB.The last person in each line , which is considered to be the closest to the board, will face the board and ready for 30 seconds of drawing what I will tell him to draw.Then the WC will turn their faces to see the drawings on the wall.The winner is the one with the best drawing.

Pre-Listening (12-14 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

T will put on the WB some pictures for some free time activities and T will discuss those pictures with the Ss.Then T will ask the Ss to make some questions about the free time activities.The Ss will take turns asking each other and give the answers' related. T will give the Ss a handout with a photo on it.T will discuss with the Ss three questions about the photo"Where is Paul?Who are Alison and Erin?What does Paul do in his free time?" The Ss will discuss the questions in pairs first then with the whole class.

While-Listening (12-14 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging specific information listening tasks

Ss will be given some questions that they will answer while listening to the conversation.Ss will listen again after they check the answers with their partners.The questions will be easy and related to the topic. T discuss all the answers on the WB with the WC.

Post-Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

T will distribute among the Ss handout 3.T will ask the Ss to start answering the questions by themselves then with their pairs .At the end T will revise the answers with the whole class.
