Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Teacher greets students. Teacher shares the Google Slide with the picture and warm up question: Discuss in breakout rooms: 'What was the best party you attended? Share your experience' (3minutes). Students work on the task in groups using Zoom breakout rooms. Students return to the main room. Teacher nominates students and conducts OCFB. Exposure (3-4 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Teacher shares a link to Google Slide with listening gist activity. Teacher asks students to listen to the part of the recording and answer the following question working individually. Then, students exchange their answers in couples using Zoom private chat feature. (2 minutes) ICQ follows. Teacher nominates students to check the answer. Highlighting (3-5 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Teacher shares Google Form document and gives 2 minutes for students to identify linked questions from the audio text they heard. First one done as an example. (students work individually). Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Teacher shares another task on Google Form that helps students to understand meaning, appropriacy, and form. Teacher asks students to work for 3 minutes on it and post answers using Zoom chat. ICQ follows. Google Forms Link: https://forms.gle/fUeXgMBKJJg7gfEh7 Teacher conducts short OCFB. Then, teacher shares Google Slide with sentence stress exercise. Teacher models the sentences, nominates students to identify stress in each sentence, then asks students to drill. Teacher repeats the procedure in the next slide with single words. Controlled Practice (6-8 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Teacher shares Google Slide with the task. Teacher asks students to match the general questions with the connected questions. Students work on the task individually, then share answers in pairs using Zoom private chat feature. (3 minutes) Teacher then asks students to compare their answers with correct ones on the next Google Slide. Teacher conducts OCFB. Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Teacher shares Google Slide with practice task. Teacher asks students to talk about New Year’s party or celebration they went to last year in Zoom breakout rooms. (5 minutes) ICQ follows. Content and Language Feedback (2-3 minutes) • To provide feedback on accurate and inaccurate samples of learners’ language

Teacher writes on the white board some sentences (both accurate and inaccurate) and highlights areas of grammar, lexis, pronunciation, appropriacy related to target language of the class.
