Main Aims

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1- greet Ss ask them about their week. 2- show them a picture of my favorite food ( pasta with white sauce) 3- Make a matching exercise using

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Tell ss that they will watch a conversation between Sally and John. 1- Ask Ss some gist questions before they watch the video : Who likes spicy food? Who likes everything? 2- play the video for the first time on youtube : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_76wWvygJI 3- show the the two questions again and send them to breakout rooms to discuss their answers. 4- Show them some listening for details questions before watching the video for the second time. 5- play the video for the second time and then send them in groups to answer the questions and make open class feedback.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

1- play the other version of the video in which the target language is highlighted and pause to elicit from Ss the meaning of the TL once it is written on the screen and elaborate whether it's for expressing like or dislike. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0jySfEpvFI

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

1- Show them a slide with some questions and answers (scaffolding): Do you like Italian food like pasta and pizza? yes, I do. - No, I don't. What's your favorite kind of food? I'm crazy about Indian food/ Chinese/Mexican. Do you like spicy food? I can't stand spicy food. I love spicy food. 2- ask Ss to ask and answer in pairs. 3- Ask each Student to to tell his colleague more about his/her most/less favorite food why do/don't they like it?

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

1- I will use notepad for feedback stage i will give them both language and content feedback. 2- After writing their both good language and mistakes discreetly. i will write them on Notepad and try to elicit from them the correct answers.
