Description

In this lesson we will focus on imperatives in the context of figures of power.

Materials

Main Aims

  • To provide review and practice of imperatives in the context of figures of authority.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide speaking opportunity to practise the target language.

Procedure

Lead-in (2-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

• Show screen and ask ss: Who can tell you what to do? • If they don't understand the question ask follow-up questions: Who do you see in the pictures? Do these people have authority?

Test 1 (6-8 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

• Show screen and give instructions: What is the person saying? Choose the correct answer. • Do the first one with them • Partner them up and send the link: Check your answers with your partner through chat. Language clarification (6-8 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

Test 2 (8-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test
