Elementry level

Description

In this lesson the ss will talk about the bus driver. First off all I will show some pictures to ss to engage them more with the topic. After that I will teach them some blocking words and finally they will be shown to the reading itself.

Materials

Main Aims

  • To provide gist, scan and detailed reading practice using a text about Routine life of a driver in the context of The bus driver

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a Being a bus driver in the context of Routine life of a driver

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The ss will be shown to some pictures about the reading topic and they will talk about it to each other to guess about what the reading is about. They are going to think about the pictures individually and after that they can share their ideas in the class .

Pre-Reading/Listening (2-4 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

I will show them some pictures from the reading itself to engage them to the reading more than before. Then again ss will think individually and after that they will share their ideas in the class. Finally I will teach them some new words by means of MPF to prepare them for the reading.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (2-4 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

Now we have some gist Q to see how much ss are dealing with the topic and to measure their ideas with their answers. We will answer the Q in a competition First they will think about the Q then, they will answer them in turns. This will help them to learn our lesson very well.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (3-5 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

In the following , ss will answer some detailed Q to go through the reading more than before. First they will think about the Q then they will answer them in turns.

Post-Reading/Listening (2-4 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

In the last stage which I think is the most important stage ss will think about some general Q about the topic and the whole reading and they will talk to each other about it and share their ideas. This will help me to see what they've learned and to see whether it was useful or not .
