  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of food

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

This lesson will start discussing the next question: What is something you want to do when this lockdown finishes? T nominates different students.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

We start a conversation about traveling and different personal interests when traveling. T will ask: Why do you like to travel? And T will show a visual setting some examples -traditions, food, entertainment, museums, history. After eliciting some comments from students. T will show a visual with information about different countries: One typical dish is kimbap. It´s made with rice and vegetables. It´s eaten cold...… Peru has some beautiful handicrafts. A lot of them are exported, and they´re sold all over the world….… Germany is known for all the varieties of beer that are made there... In this section, T will ask about their opinions.

Highlighting (1-3 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

We will work on the visual with information about different countries. T will focus the attention to the bold sentences.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

MEANING T will ask: In the sentence “It´s made with rice” ¿Can we say who cooks? and In the sentence “They are exported” ¿ Is the person specified? What happens in the rest of the examples? do we have information about the doer? This is an open class activity. FORM In this section, Ss have to complete a chart using the information from the text. The activity will be in teams in Rooms. Students have minutes to complete the activity. At the end of the activity T will nominate different students and ask for their analysis. PRONUNCIATION In this section, the emphasis will be on connected speech. Ss have the catenations in the different exponents. T will mark them on the board and corrected when needed. This is an open class activity.

Controlled Practice (8-9 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

In this section, Ss have to complete some sentences with the appropriate form of the verbs given. This activity will be individual and then students will have two minutes to check answers with their partners. At the end of the activity, T will nominate some students to verify the answers.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

This section will start with a brief review of questions. S will identify the appropriate structure to create questions using passive voice and then they will use it to have a conversation. In rooms, Ss have to talk about their favorite food. Instructions. S1-What is your favorite food? S2- It is made with tortillas and chicken, it´s cover with sauce... S1- (has to guess) Ss will have 5 minutes to ask each other and share information. At the end of the activity, T will nominate different students to share their ideas in open class. After this activity. T will take some minutes to write on the board some of the good ideas and some of the mistakes.
