Description

In this lesson, Firstly they learn some new vocabularies through a story about Brenner family. They also practice reading for gist and details by reading a text about family.The lesson starts with introducing the topic to students by using photos and teach them some of the new vocabulary they will need.This is followed by reading the text as the students read first time to get gist of the text, while the second time to search for specific information and answer questions . Students divided into groups and lesson ends with a follow up task asking their opinion about family

Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a Conversation in the context of Family
  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of family.

Procedure

Warmer/lead in (5-6 minutes) • Engage students

The students will look some pictures about new vocabulary that they will need. And then ask ss what they think about pic -What do you see in this picture? -What do you guess about pic? What is the part of speech?! They should repeat vocab after me .

Reading for gist (2-3 minutes) • To get students familar with the reading

ss have to read story and find suitable answer and share it with class

Reading for details (3-5 minutes) • Ss find the specific information and also figure out the context

Teacher say : please read these questions and you have only two minutes to think about them and it's followed by reading the story and realized the correct answer

Free practice (4-5 minutes) • To enable Ss to produce the language they studied through the lesson

-ss have a free discussion and they're going to speak with partner after a few minutes one student will volunteer . -Monitor the Ss from behind and try to see their paragraph. Don't interfere them but be there if they have questions. If you have time you may focus on the errors they made while they were reporting back in the class.
