Description

In this lesson the students will learn the expressions of movement of someone or something. The lesson begins with some images in which they must find the difference between them. Later with sentences in which they must guess the word missing (prepositions). Then a slide with sentences where they must place verbs of movement. The MAFP clarification of express movements in sentences is reached. Students in control practice will be able to place both expressions in a sentence and correct the wrong words.

Main Aims

  • • To set lesson cotntext and engage students to know, understand the grammal structures of verbs and prepositions that express movement of something or someone.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide controlled practice of the language that express movement using writing exercises • To expose students to freer speaking in the context of the teaching lesson: expressing movement.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-T asks the students what is the difference between two groups of images. -T- ask them to work in a group to share their opinions and breakout rooms for 2 minutes. -Ss will compare their opinions after the 2 minutes in OCFB.

Exposure (5 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

T- show students a list of sentences with pictures in which they must try to guess which word is missing. (prepositions) T- will ask them to write in the chatbox the word their answers and after 2 minutes the T will make the students in OCFB share their answer in a time of 2 minutes.

Highlighting (5 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

T share with the students a link so that they can develop an exercise in which 10 sentences appear which they must complete with the correct movieminth verb. (T will give 3 minutes for this task) T- ask the students in pairs to share their answers via message (in 2 minutes) T- at the end of this the teacher will choose some students to share their answer in OCFB (2 minutes)

Clarification (10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

T- will explain the meaning, form and pronunciation of expressions of movement. T-will use slides showing definitions and pictures to reinforce meaning. T- will ask the students to choose the meaning of each preposition. T- Explain through sentences how expressions of movement are used within sentences. T- ask the students to say which are the propositions of movement with one or two syllables and how they are pronounced within the sentence and individually

Controlled Practice (10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

PART 1 T- shows a slide in which the students must place the meaning of each proposition according to the number that you have in the image and write their answer in the Chatbox. Ss- they will have 2 minutes to elaborate the exercise so that at the end they can share their answer in pairs and at the end 1 or 2 students share the final answers with the group. PART 2 T- Share a link to an exercise that is divided into 2 parts: In part A they must choose the correct prepositions of motion for each sentence and write it down. And part B must find the error in the sentences and write the correct word on the line. T- will give you 3 minutes to answer and 2 more minutes to share answers on OCFB

Free Practice (10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

The teacher will ask the students in pairs to ask each other questions and make assumptions regarding the images presented on the slide. "Where did Snowy go? So everyone can formulate their answers and ask their classmates questions in breakout rooms. For this task they will have 5 minutes. At the end of the time the teacher will ask to call them in OCFB to share answers in 3 minutes-
