This lesson aims at learning how to write formal email and communicate in a business environment.

Abc Google Docs

Main Aims

  • To provide product and process writing practice of a formal email in the context of English for buisness

Subsidiary Aims

  • Identifing parts of email

Procedure

Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • to engage students with the lesson.

Will use google slides asking students how often do they send emails? to whom do they send email and if it is formal and informal? Will ask them to type their answers in the chat box.

Text analysis (7-8 minutes) • To identify language of formal email

Will show example of both formal and informal email to identify the difference and understand what is the meaning of formal. will identify the different section of the email and ask them which email is formal?

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Will ask students to click the link and move to google docs, provide them with the question, check list and helping tips. They will respond to same email I responded to.

Feedback and Error Correction (4-5 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Will invite students to break out rooms, to read and check peer's work using check list. will shift between the break out rooms for mentoring and give feed back if any.
