Description

In this lesson, students will be enabled to learn how to use Verb Patterns. Ss will discuss one question to set up the context (what would you like to do?). Then they will read a short text as a sample on how to use functional language. Meaning, form, and pronunciation, this will also be explained in detail using a Google Jamboard and a google document. For Controlled practice, Ss will complete a filling the blank Google form. For Freer's practice, Ss will conduct a short conversation. Peer check and feedback will be guided in between practices. Final practice to do feedback, and delay error

Main Aims

  • • To provide clarification and function on how to use Verb Patterns when students talk about preferences or things they like to do

Subsidiary Aims

  • • Students will be available to use Verb Patterns to create a short conversation.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Students will work in pairs or groups. The lead-in context is for students to discuss with their classmates their preferences or what would you like to do. By looking at a google jamboard students will have an idea of the context. Then as a group, we will talk about it.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Students will be introduced to the main aim of the lesson by reading a short text that will introduce them to the grammar language.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

The teacher will use a google jamboard to explain MFP so students can comprehend how Verb patterns are formed and can be used when writing them together. The teacher will also share a table showing only the verbs are used in the conversation and the whole lesson.

Controlled Practice & Feer Practice (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Students will complete a filling blank google form as a Controlled Practice on how to identify and use in sentences the Verb Patterns. Answers will be clarified as a group. For freer practice, students will use the differents verbs giving in class and make a short conversation.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Feedback and Dealy error will be conducted at the end by the teacher.
