Description In this lesson, students will be enabled to learn how to do deductions in the past using model verbs and verbs in the past participle. Ss will discuss one question to set up the context. Then they will read a short conversation as a sample on how to use functional language. Students will answer a Google form that will introduce them to the Meaning, form, and pronunciation, this will also be explained in detail using a Google Jamboard. For Controlled practice, Ss will complete a choose the correct answer on a Google form. For Freer's practice, Ss will conduct a short conversation. Peer check and feedback will be guided in between practices. Final practice to do feedback, and delay error

Main Aims

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Students will work individually. The lead-in context is for students to write on a sticky note when was the last time they lost something and what they lost. They will save their answers for the freer practice.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Students will be introduced to the main aim of the lesson by reading a short conversation with the introduction of the language. Students will answer a short google form to deduct if the conversation is set on the past.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

The teacher will use a google form to explain MFP so students can comprehend how to use the modal verbs and the verbs and past participle when doing deductions in the past.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Students will complete a google form as a Controlled Practice on how to use functional language teaching in the previous state of the lesson. Answers will be clarified as a group. For freer practice, students will use the answer giving on the lead-in to set up the context and make a short conversation.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Feedback and Dealy error will be conducted at the end by the teacher.
