Subsidiary Aims

  • To practice vocabulary words that are adjectives.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T say s 'hi' to class and introduces self. Next, T will show students personal pictures of family, animals, friend and explain this are important to her, T will ask students what things are important to you? T will have Ss give answers as a class.

Pre-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To review vocabulary and adjectives with students

T will have Ss listnen to an audio clip CD 1-33. After listening the T will give students a form to answer questions-Circle all the words you heard in the audio then give Ss 3 minutes to complete the for. Then in pairs they will compare answers. T will bring all the Ss back together to fo over answers. T will circle the answers as the Ss give their answers.

Post listening task (5-7 minutes) • To provide students understanding of MFP

T will introduce vocabulary words (words are from listening exercise). They will do this exercise together as a class. Practicing reading the words for pronuncian. They will discuss the meaning of words to make sure Ss undertand them. The form will be on the power point slide ofr students to see and the T will ask where the stress is on the words.

Controlled Practice (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with practice of using the language in written lesson

T will explain to Ss that they will once again listen to audio clip and this time they will circle all the items that are important to Alan and Grandma. Ss will listen to audio 1-2 times while working on the assignment. Then the T will play it one more time and put the students in pairs to compare their answers before going over answers and having OCF.

Wrap up lesson (1-3 minutes) • To help clarify any mistakes or understanding of words missed

T will to DEC. Ask Ss if they have any questions. If time allots go over one finale activity and the wrap up the lesson
