Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will show a video about Australia for the students and after the video, I will ask them some questions about Australia and give them 2 minutes to prepare answers for the questions

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

I will have a task, words with the definitions, and students have to match each word with its definitions.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

Students will be given a true or false task. they are asked to listen to a part of the recording and write the or false next to each sentence.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

Task 1 They are going to listen to a conversation between Elaine and Marco. On the map, they are asked to number the 4 places Clair has mentioned. Task 2 they are going to listen again and they will be given a list of words they are asked to write the name of a town next to each word. Task 3 they are going to listen to the record and complete the sentences.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

They are going to prepare some questions about Australia to ask and answers them.
