  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of theater and movie watching

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T shows S picture of a live performance (Adladin) and asks Ss Have you ever seen a live performance in a theatre? As a class, Ss share: What plays have you seen? or movies or series do you like watching? Can you find some adjectives to describe them? T repeats Ss answers using some of the target language.

Text-Work - Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

T explains to class that they going to hear a conversation between three friends. Two who went to see a play and one they just ran into. T plays audio of conversation T sends Ss like to Google forms. T plays audio again and learners read and individually answer 10 multiple choice sentences that use the target language. ICQs T puts pairs names in private chat for students to see to expedite Instruction Then, they compare answers in pairs via private chats. T shares his screen and conducts OCFB

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

T leads Ss through MFPA of the target language using Google slides

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

T leads Ss through the first part of the exercise T puts Ss into Breakout rooms Ss first work individually on the fill-in exercise and then in pairs share their answers. T shares screen and conducts OCFB

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Ss listen to the recording one more time and work with their partner to answer the questions below. In breakout rooms, Ss have to use each target language in their response. 1. What have Gloria and Ritika just been to see? 2. Did they enjoy it? Why? /Why not? 2. T Conducts feedback on the task. 3. Delayed Error Correction (DEC).
