Description

In this lesson, Ss. practice and revise collocations with the word 'look'. The lesson starts with a discussion about identifying a celebrity based on a brief description. This is followed with a first test to check what Ss. already know about the TL. T. then moves on to clarify MFP of TL. This is followed with a second test to have students practice TL. Finally there is freer practice where the Ss. will speak with each other using the TL.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T. begins timer T. shares screen of Google Jamboard: description of a celebrity (Beyoncé) T. gives time for Ss. to identify celebrity using sticky notes (1 min) T. nominates some Ss. to share their answers and engage students into the lesson (3 min)

Test #1 (8-10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

T. shares screen of Google Forums - multiple choice T. gives instructions to Ss. using imperative language: "you will have 2 min to answer these questions" T. does demo of answering the correct option T. allows time for Ss. to complete task (2 min) T. separates Ss. into breakout rooms to peer-check (2 min) T. brings Ss. back into main room to conduct OCFB (4 min)

Teach (8-10 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

Test #2 (8-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test
