Description

In this lesson, the students are going to encounter two different types of present tense, Present perfect and present perfect continuous. In the lesson the teacher is going to explain the structures for the tense, how it is used, the timeline and some exercises at the end to make sure all the students get the points out of the lesson.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (4-6 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-T shows the PP presentation to the Ss -T talks to Ss about the English grammar and tenses -T asks the Ss to give their opinions about the tenses and how they use them. -T let the Ss to give their ideas for 2-3 minutes

Exposure (6-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

-T starts the lesson by showing the Ss the present tense. T describes the types of present tense and what Ss are expecting for the lesson today. -T first talks about the present perfect -T shows the timeline for the present perfect and explain for Ss how it is used -T shows the structure of present perfect -T shows some examples about how to use present perfect.

Controlled Practice (4-8 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

-T opens a website to give the Ss exercises how the present perfect works. -T asks Ss one by one to participate. -T while solving the exercises explain the structure and usage for Ss

Exposure (6-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

-T continues the lesson by showing the Ss the present tense. -T first talks about the present perfect continuous -T shows the timeline for the present perfect continuous and explain for Ss how it is used in sentence -T shows the structure of present perfect continuous -T shows some examples about how to use present perfect continuous

-T opens a website to give the Ss exercises how the present perfect works. -T asks Ss one by one to participate. -T while solving the exercises explain the structure and usage for Ss -T make sure all the Ss participated in the exercise -T ask the Ss if they have any questions related to the type of tense

Flexi Stage (2-3 minutes) • To provide an additional speaking for fluency activity in case the class ends early

-T asks the Ss to tell a story using Present perfect / Present perfect continuous. -T gives feedback if Ss make any mistakes -T give an example to the students using this tense and it's types.
