Description

In this lesson students will be able to comprehend dialogues about everyday life.They will listen two dialogues and complete the missing parts of the dialoges. They will also learn how to tell an email adress or a website adress correctly. They will follow this up with a short dictation and speaking on how to say and write email or website adresses.

Main Aims

  • To provide exchanging information on everyday life topics by using different types of dialoges about booking or check ing ins.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency in understanding and telling different email and website adresses.

Procedure

Warmer/lead in (4-6 minutes) • To introduce the target vocab and create an awerness about the topic.

Teacher will asks if the students use internet efficiently if so which things they use on internet. What kind of programs they use in order to communicate with their friends or families. Teacher elicits information about how they use internet. Teacher shows the some symbols about internet and lets her students repeat them aloud.

Pre-reading/listening (5-8 minutes) • To prepare students for the upcoming dialogues.

Students will listen to different email addresses and websites. They will try to say what they hear to the Teacher with the help of the symbols that they have learnt in the previous stage. T shows the correct answers on the board so the students see the differences between their answers and the correct answers.

Pre-listening #2 (4-6 minutes) • To set the context of the listening

T shows 3 different pictures to the students and asks them what kind of places they are. First they discuss in pairs and later They tell their predictions. If there is any confusion about the predictions T doesn't correct and let them find the correct ones in the other stage.

Gist Listening (5-6 minutes) • To provide general information with gist listening

Students will listen 3 different dialogues and try to match the dialoges with the correct pictures which they've already made predictions about.

Detailed Listening (10-13 minutes) • To provide specific information with the detailed listening

The students will listen the dialogues again and try to write the missing information on "complete the dialogue handout" in pairs. If the students can not get the specific information for the first time, Teacher lets them listen twice or three times. They check the answers as a WC.

Post Listening (5-8 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to let them produce on what they've learnt.

Teacher gives them some email addresses. They will work in pairs. Students A will dictate an address and Student B will try to write it correctly. After all the addresses are dictated they will check in pairs and see their mistakes. If-time: if teacher needs extra time she wants different students come to the board and write the correct email or website adresses.
