Description

In this lesson, students will be enabled to learn about the modal verb MIGHT. Meaning, form, and pronunciation will be explained in detail using a Google Jamboard by the teacher. Ss will discuss one question to set up the context and will complete a Google form to look for general information. For Freer's practice, Ss will conduct a short conversation following questions based on the samples given in class. Peer check and feedback will be guided in between practices. Final practice to respond, feedback, and delay error

Main Aims

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Ss will discuss in pairs or groups one question about how indecisive they might are.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Ss will read a conversation looking for general information on the context where might modal verb will be introduced in the context lesson. Ss will complete a Google form to look for the gist, will work individually, and compare answers in groups.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

MIGHT is the challenging word choice to cover MFP. The teacher will use three examples of sentences taking from the text and will cover MFP using a Google jamboard. Ss will then complete a Google form to practice the use of MIGHT Ss will work in groups.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

The teacher will conduct an Open Class Feedback with Ss. to discusses answers from the Google form.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Ss will complete a Google form to practice the use of modal verb MIGHT. Ss will complete the form individually

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

The teacher will conduct Open Class feedback to compare answers.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Ss will do a short conversation using the target language
