Main Aims

  • To provide practice and review of language used for predictions in the context of friends panning an event

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of friends panning an event

Warmer/Lead-in (2-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Ss will be shown Jamboard and drag sticky notes that are positive or negative to proper spot. Students will discuss openly about how they feel.

Exposure (3-5 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Ss will be given a gist task to select the main idea and use private messages to confirm with one another. In OCFB Ss will share answers, and then the target language will be highlighted.

Clarification (12-15 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Using google slides we will cover MAFP.

Controlled Practice (5-7 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Using Google Forms in breakout rooms Ss will design their own conversation. Ss will have a speaker's line and choices for a response using the TL. After all have been decided the Ss will share their dialogue in OCFB.

Free Practice (10-14 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Ss will be sent to breakout rooms to plan their own party using the target language. Who will come? What will they bring?
