Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of language used for Language and vocabulary in the context of Phone conversations

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a Language and vocabulary in the context of Phone conversations

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-6 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T shows S a youtube video of 2' minutes. T asks S 'What do you think are the main differences between both conversation?". T writes their answers in the G. Jamboard in an OCFB. T check their pronunciation and use of language.

Text Work (8-10 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

T introduces Task 1, fill up the gaps but with a word cloud. S need to find the right word for each sentence. T divides them in pairs through breakout rooms. T does the first one an example. T does OCFB with them and ask each S one sentence and the right word for it. Estimated time, 10 min.

Language Clarification (10-12 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the task language

T introduces Task 2 in G. Forms. Students have to match different meanings with the right words for each. T does the first one as an example. T makes them work individually and share answers in pairs, then OCFB. Activity for Meaning. T introduces in G.Slides the mentioned sentences and re check with students the form of them. Later on in another Slide T shows Students pronunciation, with stress and natural entonation. Activity Estimated time, 12 minutes.

Language Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with practice of the task language

T will provide Students with a G. Slide for Role Play as Task 5. S need to repeat a dialogue but when is the right moment they will need to create part of it. They will be divided in pairs again for this activity. We check the role play in OCFB. Estimated time of activity 6 minutes.

Freer Practice (9-10 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice functional language

T shows S another G. Slide. This as Task 5, Students have to create their short role play dialogue. T divides them in pairs and ask them to work with either breakout rooms or private messages. S show their answers in OCFB. T writes possible mistakes in forms, pronunciation and re check with S at the end as DEC. Estimated time for activity, 10 minutes.
