Description

In this lesson,students learn about food vocabulary based on a vocabulary bank and reading text. the lesson starts with a question about food and followed with showing and painting some pictures about food and fruits. Finally there is a game to practice vocabs that the students have learned

  • To provide gist listening practice using a text about Foods and fruits in the context of Food

Procedure

Greeting (2 minutes) • To make students energetic and prepare them for new lesson

Ask them how was their week and what did they do

Engage (5 minutes) • To help students learn the lesson better and prepare them for teaching new vocabs

Describe what I ate yesterday for each meal(or paint the picture of some fruits and foods on the board) and ask them to say it too, then ask them about their favorite food (P 68 part a)Ask them to talk about food words in english two by two Icq:do you have to write or read sth? No they should speak to each other

Study (10 minutes) • To teach and clarify the meaning of new words

Showing or drawing the picture of fruits,vegetables,foods and say the pronunciation and ask them to repeat them then write the word on the board to show the spelling CCQ: point on a food and say the wrong name for it and ask students to say if it is correct or not

Activate (5-7 minutes) • To make sure the students have leared the new lesson successfully

Ask them to go to page 163(vocabulary bank) and mach the numbers with the pictures that are related to each other In case of having extra time play a game (ask students to throw a ball to each other and play a music then stop the music immediately and show or draw a picture to the student that have a ball and ask her to say its name)

Error correction (1 minutes) • To correct the students mistake and not to distract their fluency

At the end of the class write students mistakes on the board and ask them to correct it Example: I've heard some of you said I eat... yesterday is it correct?
