Main Aims

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Slide 2 What did you get for your last birthday? For example; I got some headphones

Exposure (7-8 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Slide 3 SB CD 1 track 63. LISTEN, What gift will Louise and Chris give Sophie? Play twice. Total of 3 minutes. Plus other 3 minutes TOPS for OCFB and 1 minute for logistics.

Highlighting (3-3 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Slide 4 Highlight the suggestions. You have 2 minutes. OCFB on the answers 1 minute.

Clarification (10-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Slide 5 deals with M in a GD activity. Fill out the suggestions. You have 2 minutes. Slide 6 has answers, do OCFB should they have issues. Slide 7 deals with F and A at the same time. Give me one example of each. Slide 8 deals with pronunciation, just drill it. Tell them the stress (as shown) and that questions "go down" at the end, maybe draw arrows through zoom´s annotations.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Open the google forms. Fill the gaps with these phrases. You have 3 minutes. Submit your answers (close to finishing). Discuss your answers with your partner, you have 3 minutes. (breakout rooms) OFCB. 2-4 minutes

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Slide 20. My birthday is next week, with your partner discuss what you could give me as a gift. You have 3 minutes.

Delayed Error Correction • To give students personalised feedback on their issues

Last slide Just....listen to them and go back to the problems they had, this WILL change depending on the students and their particular problems.
