Main Aims

  • To provide process and product writing practice of a essay in the context of time management

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice of Lifestyle lexis in the context of time management
  • Personal aim: to establish a fruitful learning routine

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T greets and S reply. T asks S about her week and her well being. T asks S to share and give reports on her assignments and studies. T asks S if she has been able to manage her time to do all her studies. S answer

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

S has shared the transcription of the video on the board and analyzed one paragraph based on the last grammar lessons. T gives feedback and guide S to correct the mistake or elaborate and justify her answers. T asks S to add her own paragraph to the same board and analyze it as well.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

T asks S to open the word cloud added to Stormboard and gives instructions and asks ICQs. S look at the storm board and express the words and phrases she can remember. T asks about the word or phrase she mentions. What did he say about it? what can you say about it? Can you find it in the text and read the line?... and CCQs. S answers.

Productive Task(s) (15-18 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

T displays the word cloud of one or two paragraphs and asks s write about the topic looking at it. Here S must be able to use the words and phrases with a few errors. S analyze her paragraph

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

T gives feedback on S's paragraph. Here S must be able to justify her answers or do self-correction with a little inappropriate reasoning.

Reflect and Assignments (3-5 minutes) • To provide students with an opportunity to express their feelings at the end of the lesson

T asks s to share her feelings about the class and the lesson. She also talks about why and how the topic of time management is a good topic to learn more about. S summarize the lessons. T asks S to listen to the video several times and choose a paragraph and repeat the sentences exactly and send a voice record.
