Students will demonstrate their ability to choose a hotel to stay based on reviews, availability, location and pricing information; Students will be able to book an hotel over the phone, explaining their requirements, needs and wishes;

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

- Ask students if they have had a real life experience with booking a hotel over the phone or via email; ask them what was the easiest part in holding a conversation and what was the hardest part - Announce the topic and explain the practical value of the lesson;

Test #1 (8-10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

Teach - Listen (15-20 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

Test #2 (8-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

Pair work; improvised phone call dialog, where one student plays a role of a traveler, and another student plays a role of a booking manager.

Free practice for homework (13-15 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Homework or in class Plan a trip to the city; check Tripadvisor.com, Expedia and other websites for reviews and offers; pick the best offer and get prepared to explain your choice; Write down an email (but don't send, of course!) : )
