In this lesson , the students will be able to use some prepositions such as in , at and on through first of all, discussion about teacher’s personal life using the target language.Next ,they work on the same questions with their peers., they with be familiar with rules to practice them in a controlled way . finally , they have chance to practice them in a fluent way through a competition.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification about the use of some prepositions such as in , on and at.At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able use the in a appropriate way.

  • To provide fluency and accuracy in speaking practice in the context of social life

Procedure

Warmer (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

- greeting the students asking them to work in pairs to answer the question about the T at first then about themselves .They have to use a wide range of prepositions like in , at and on in proper context. - Ss talk in pair and T monitors. - T asks ss to comment on their pairs' language.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

The teacher present a picture which contains many activities and uses of the prepositions and he asks them to choose the suitable one for each category/ They have to work individually then in pairs after that can tell about their partners answers to achieve peer teaching .

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

The teacher clarifies and elaborate on the uses of prepositions thoroughly . giving students a various range of sentence which include all the potential forms.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

The T can asks ss to complete some sentences according to a given text.Then, the T provide them with a wide range of sentences to fill in with the appropriate preposition. Finally,they can get feedback from the T.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

T asks the ss to describe many pictures using the given prepositions individually then pairs. Finally, they get feedback from the T.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

T introduces the ss to a competition, and he asks to speak fluently using the given language the more correct language you produce the more you have the chance to be the winner. At last, T gives them feedback.
