In this lesson, Ss learn vocabularies in the context of clothes, and then use the vocabularies to tell what they wear

Main Aims

  • For Ss to understand and use the following lexical items related to clothes (e.g. trousers, skirt, blouse, etc)

  • For Ss to practice speaking skill in the context of clothes.


Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-T shows a picture and asks Ss to guess the subject -T writes clothes on the board and asks Ss to read and repeat it. -T asks if it is plural or singular -T asks Ss to work in group and talk about what they are wearing now -Ss work in group, T monitors -T gets feedback from Ss

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide the context for the target language through a situation

-T asks Ss to look at a painting and photo -T asks Ss to read about the Remake Project -T explains to Ss the Remake Project -T asks Ss if it is a good remake or not and why -T asks Ss to look for the items of clothing -T elicits apron -T asks Ss to do exercise. -Ss do the exercise individually, T monitors -T shows the answer key and asks Ss to check their answers

Clarification (12-15 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and use of different items of clothing

-T shows Ss the picture of an item of clothing -T asks Ss What it is -T asks Ss to repeat the word -T asks S to repeat the word -T asks Ss CCQs to check their understanding 1-Which season do you wear it? 2-What do you wear when you go running? 3-Which part of the body relates to each item of jewelry? -T writes the name of an item of clothing on the board -T asks Ss what verbs they can use with clothes -T asks students to repeat the verbs -T writes the verbs on the board

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

-T asks Ss to choose a picture of themselves from the album of their mobile phone -T asks Ss to tell other Ss what they wear in the picture and other Ss should guess where it is (work, university, specific occasion, school, going out at night, etc) -T asks ICQs to make sure that Ss know what to do. 1-what do you tell to your partner? -Ss work in group, T monitors -T get feedbacks
