Main Aims

  • To provide product writing practice of a Review in the context of Movies

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide gist and detailed reading practice using a text about Review in the context of Movies


Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Tt presents a slide with famous pics of movies and asks Ss what they think about it Tt asks Ss to write a little opinion on Jamboard

Exposure (5-7 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Tt displays a movie review, asks Ss to read it and runs a GIST task Ss read and answer the questions of the GIST task Tt checks the activity with the students

Useful Language (5-7 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

Tt will deliver an analysis activity to the UPPER-CASE words focusing on the uses and function of each expression. Tt shares the screen and delivers the instructions. Ss go to the link and answer the detail task

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Ss will write a movie review on google docs, Tt will provide the link after explaining the task

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Tt will run a DEC with previous monitoring activity during the task
