Main Aims

  • To enable students to review and practice articles

Subsidiary Aims

  • To enable students to practice their reading skills by skimming and scanning through the text and practice their fluency speaking skills by engaging in discussions.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage about the topic

T and SS will introduce each other T will play a video for Ss to watch T will set a topic to have the SS discuss about (Topic: Do you ever chew gum? Does it help in any way?) T will write the discussion topic through chat T will break rooms and SS will be given 3 minutes to discuss Lastly, OCFB

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

T will prepare a gist tasks which consist of Ss to skim through the passage A and choose the best title. Link will be sent by google forms. Individually, Ss will answer question 1, they will be given 2 minute. Ss will discuss the answer in pairs through private chat, they will be given 2 minute. OCFB, T will visually show the answers through P.P T will ask Ss to re-read passage A and answer question 2. Link will be sent by google forms. Indiviudally, Ss will answer question 2, they will be given 2 minute. Ss will discuss the answers in pairs through private chat, they will be given 2minute. OCFB, T will visually show the answers through P.P

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

T will prepare language analysis through P.P T will teach meaning for definite article by explaining the meaning, providing CCQs and providing examples. T will teach form for definite article by explaining the form and providing an example T will teach pronunciation by using the example provided in form and provide the IPA, ask the Ss whether is there a linking and where is the stress T will ask Ss to pronounce the sentence T will teach meaning for indefinite article by explaining the meaning, providing CCQs and providing examples T will teach form by explaining the form and providing an example T will teach pronunciation by using the example provided in from and provide IPA, ask Ss whether is there a linking and where is the stress

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

T will provide an exercise in Articles by providing a link through google forms Ss will individually complete the task, they will be given 5 minutes Ss will check their answers in pairs through private chat box, they will be given 2 minutes OCFB T will show the answers through P.P

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

T will prepare a practice quiz which consist of learners to use the correct article T will break room and have the learners discuss the answers together, they will be given 5 minutes T will monitor during break out rooms and DEC T will discuss the answers with students and correct error Conduct feedback Lesson finish
