To provide clarification of language used for casual conversation in the context of achievements
Procedure (27-35 minutes)
Show students Google Slide with picture of notable person in recent history and ask them if they know who it is and what they achieved/are known for.
Use Google Slides to cover MFP of useful language with students, using CCQs to check understanding of the TL.
Link students to Jamboard and invite them to talk to each other in pairs/groups about what achievements they find amazing/interesting, using as many of the target language phrases as possible. Teacher observes and provides assistance if needed, while taking notes for DEC.
Using notes from the preceding task, the teacher provides DEC and praise for the completed task.
