Main Aims

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1. T will have students talking about a picture of an archeologist. "Good evening everyone, here is a picture I have for you today. Please talk about who this man is (a teacher?, etc), and what he does. It will be in groups and you have 2 minutes." 2. ICQ them - what to do/time/ind or group? 3. Send them the picture 4. Breakout rooms - 2 minutes 5. OCFB

Pre-teach vocab (6-7 minutes) • To prepare students for the listening task

T will have students do two exercise - one for meaning and one for form. 1) T will send a link for exercise on vocabulary (meaning). Ind. 1 minute 2) ICQ them 3) Send the link to ss 4) Feedback 5) T will send a link for another exercise on vocabulary (form). Ind. 1 minute 6) ICQ them 7) Send the link to ss 8) Feedback 9) T will go over pronunciation by saying the words and asking them where the stress lies in each word.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (6-8 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist

1) T will play the audio 1. Students will listen to the audio and tick the boxes corresponding the the main ideas/topics in the task. Ind. 3 minutes. 2) ICQ them 3) Send them the link 4) Play the audio 5) Check with their peers - 1 minute 6) Feedback

While-Reading/Listening #2 (6-8 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, listening tasks

1) T will play the audio 2. Students will listen to the audio and check if the statements are true or false. Ind. 3 minutes. 2) ICQ them 3) Send them the link 4) Play the audio 5) Check with their peers - 1 minute 6) Feedback

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

1) Ss will talk to each other asking what they do and what they have to do in their jobs. Group. 5 minutes. 2) ICQ students 3) Send them the link 4) Send them to breakout rooms 5) Monitor them 6) DEC
