To provide a freer speaking practice in the context of describing holiday items.
Procedure (37-48 minutes)
T shows a picture of a couple on the beach and elicit some information from Ls. Ls are divided into two groups to answer the following question. What is your plan for the next summer holiday? Ls talk about their plans as feedback.
T shows a picture of 10 objects in serial and asks students to name the objects in the picture T gives instructions "name as many objects as you can in 4 mins" Ls check their answers in groups. T monitors for the following teaching stage.
T shares the PTT to teach challenging words: - T shows pictures and elicit meaning - T checks Ls understanding by asking CCQS to clarify their understanding when necessary. - modelling / drilling. - T highlights form and pronunciation.
T asks ss to match the same objects in the picture to the phrases "descriptions" on the other side in 4 mins: -T gives instructions " match the words to the phrases in 4 mins" - Ls check their answers in groups - Feedback is provided.
T shows the pictures of the items -T gives instructions " choose an object from the picture and write three clues to describe it for your partner to guess it" - Ls will be given 2 mins to prepare themselves. -Ls are divided into groups of pairs. Feedback content - language
