Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-0 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1.T will show a picture/expression for students to discuss. "Hi, guys, good evening, how is everyone?... So today I would like to show you this picture/expression, and I would you to think about it and to discuss with your peers what do you think it means and why do we say it. I am going to give you 2 minutes to talk about in groups. 2. Send the link to the chat box. 3. ICQ's ss 4. Send ss to breakout rooms (time - 2 minutes) 5. T conducts OCFB.

Presentation (4-5 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through an audio

T will play an audio and ss will have to match the stories of the audio with the headlines given to them on a google doc form. "Ok, guys, now I am going to show you these sentences or phrases and you are going to check which ones match the conversations you are about to hear on an audio". You are going to do this individually. You have 3 minutes." ICQ - what to do/ind or group/task time Feedback (answer key)

Clarification (8-12 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

1. Meaning - T will give ss a task where ss have to pick what is not true meaning for each of the sentences given. "Now you guys need to pick what it is not true for each of these." You will do this individually. You have 2 minutes. 2. ICQ them - what to do/ind or group/time 3. Form - T will give a task to ss to cover form for some of the sentences in the previous task. "For this exercise, pick the correct alternative for each sentence. Only one alternative is correct". You will do this individually. You have 2 minutes to do it. 4. ICQ them - what to do/ind or group/time 5. Go over appropriacy and pronunciation - 2 minutes - see slide - model/repetition

Controlled Practice (4-5 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

1. T will give a task where students need to implement some words to sentences in order to give appropriate emphasis to them. "Ok, now these sentences do not have emphasis to them. Please add the words in the parentheses wherever it is appropriate in order to make these sentences more emphatic". You have 2 minutes to do this. You will do this individually. 2. ICQ them/what to do/Ind or in group/time 3. Answer key

Free Practice (8-12 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

T will propose to ss to come up with a short conversation dialogue where the students will need to use at least one the phrases learned in today's lesson. "Lastly, I would you like you guys to write ONE short dialogue where you use at least one of the phrases that we learned in today's lesson. In our prior exe, we had an example of a short conversation. It is going to be ONE conversation per group. I am going to give you 5 minutes to do this." 2. ICQ/what to do/ind or group/time 3.
