In this lesson, students will learn how to use collocations based on transport. and learn how to use the target vocabulary when speaking.

Warmer/Lead-in (4-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T-Ss T tells a story about a trip he went on to anothr country and how it was. T-Ss T asks a few questions based on the story to Ss Ss-T Ss give some answers based on the story

Test #1 (12-12 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

1B T-Ss T tells students to brainstorm types of transport. Ss-T Ss think of what type of transport they know T-Ss T gives Ss 2-3 minutes to write the transport they know (up to 6 different ones) asks ICQ's for understanding Ss-T Ss give their answers T-Ss T check answers with Ss from the Photobank page 160 of images in the Photobank 2A T-Ss T writes an example of the word web on the board T-Ss T gives meaning of example, get on/off/take/ride T-Ss T gives rest of mind map for Ss to complete. Ss-Ss Ss do mind maps T-Ss T checks answers with Ss

Teach MPF (10-10 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

T-Ss T shows some images of transport. ( bus, train car ) Elicits the image to the Ss Ss-T Ss try to work out what the images are . T-Ss T asks CCQ's to the Ss about the images: ( train: Does it move fast? Is it long? etc ) Ss-T Ss respond with own answers. T-Ss Once known, the word is drilled to Ss for pronunciation. Ss-T Ss repeat the word(s) a few times until they completely understand the pronunciation T-Ss T shows the word(s) to the Ss - Ss can take notes of the word for clarification. T-Ss T stresses the word(s) to the Ss so they can pronounce them properly (tram, train, lorry/truck) etc...

Test #2 (8-8 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

T-Ss T gives Ss unscambled sentences based on the first part of the lesson using the different transport collocations with the verbs ( take a bus, ride a train etc ) Ss- Ss Ss unscramble sentences and write the correct answers T-Ss T checks answers with Ss for correct sentence structure.

Free practice (6-6 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

T-Ss T shows Ss three questions on the board. Ss write questions think about their answers. Ss-Ss-PW Ss work in pairs and ask each other the questions and get feedback from each other. Ss-T Ss give their answers in their pairs to the teacher. T-Ss T gives Ss feedback on their answers.

Error Correction (5-5 minutes) • To check the students understanding of the target vocabulary used in the lesson

T-Ss T puts some sentences on the board that are correct and incorrect. Ss-T Ss read the sentences and check. T-Ss T asks Ss if the statements are right or wrong, if it's the correct structure etc. Ss-T Ss give try to correct the answer. T guides them if necessary. T-Ss T reveals correct answers for Ss to confirm their correctins
