Lead-in (4-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

- Using Jamboard, I will show Ss 3 pictrues for them to describe. - I will engage Ss by asking these questions: - How does s/he look? - How old do you think s/he is? - In pairs, I will ask them to write 5 words to describe the people in the pics. - Ss will be back in the main room. - I will elicit answers from Ss and write them on the whiteboard. - I will ask Ss which parts of speech did we use to describe the pics i.e. adjectives. - Below each picture, I'll show a compund adjective describing the pesrons in the picture.

Exposure / Highlighting TL (6-7 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation and draw the attention of the Ss to the TL

- Ss will be given a link to a Google Form. - Individually, Ss will read the short text inside the form and fill in the blanks. - In pairs, Ss will be sent to breakoutrooms to compare and submit their answers. - Ss will be back in the mainroom for OCFB.

Controlled Practice (6-7 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

- Using a Google Form, indvidually, Ss will be asked to open the form and complete the sentences using a compund adjective formed from the underlined words. - In pairs, Ss will check and submit their answers. - Ss will be back in the main room for an OCFB. - Ss will be shown the answers on Google Form responses.

Free practice (6-8 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Think-Pair-Share (7) - I will ask Ss to think indivdually for 1min of 3 persons they know very well e.g. a relative or a friens. - In pairs, Ss will be asked to take turns to describe the 3 persons for 3min using the adjectives they have learnt. - In the main room, Ss will share for 3min their partners' descriptions. ICQs: - Are you going to talk about strange people or well-known people to you? (well-known) - Is this a 10-min-activity or a 6-min-activity? (6-min-activity) - I will monitor Ss to make sure Ss are using the TL. - T conducts OCFB and DEC. using the whiteboard.
