Description

In this lesson, students will start talking about what course of action they can follow in in frelation to garbage disposal. Then they will analize three lexical idems in Meaning, Pronunciation and Form. After that, SS will listen to an interview about the making of the film Trasher. They will answer T or F exercises and, in the last stage of the class, they will role play an interview about how to deal with garbage in the country.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

In this stage, the teacher puts a discussion question on the board. students will answer the question and discuss the course of action to follow in case they see someone throwing garbage in the street. They will be given the chance to express their personal options about the topic. Students will go to break out rooms and, in pairs, they will have three minutes to share their answers before OCFB.

Pre-teach vocabulary. (3-4 minutes) • To teach blocking vocabulary

In this stage, students analyze three lexical items that are to be present in the listening task. They will examine Meaning, Pronunciation and Form.

Listening for gist (4-5 minutes) • To develop the students' ability to listen for gist and general understanding.

In this stage, students will listen to a interview a film related to how the world deals with the garbage. Students will work in pairs and answer a question about the general understanding of the topic. Students will go to break out rooms and will have four minutes to share their answers before OCFB.

Listening for detail (6-8 minutes) • To develop students' ability to listen for specific information.

In this stage, students are going to listen to the interview again and, in pairs, they state if the sentences are true or not. They go to break out rooms and have time to discuss their answers before OCFB..

Freer Practice (12-14 minutes) • To enable students to speak about their personal views about the topic.

In this stage, students will role play an interview in which they have to establish at least three options to design a course of action to help the country dispose the garbage. Students will go to break out rooms and will have 10 minutes to develop the task before OCFB.

Feedback (4-5 minutes) • To give students feedback on their ability to communicate.
