Students are going to learn variety of things in this lesson.They will have discussion about songs and musical instruments., competition ,short role play on shop language and do some exercises in their books.

Main Aims

  • Students will work together in their groups to discuss on songs and musical instruments,songs competition and act short role play 'at the shop'.

Subsidiary Aims

  • They will read the text on musical instruments and answer questions the questions about it .


Warmer/Lead-in (8-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The teacher starts by showing pictures of musical instrument to brainstorm some ideas fro the students..They will be divided in to groups to read the texts on pages 56 - 57 and answer the questions on page 58 of pupils book.They will also match the pictures with the words and discuss about the picture and competition on page 59

Exposure (10-15 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

They will work in pairs read the short dilalogue on pages 60 - 61 and answer and the questions.The will model the dialogue and the students will discuss to act it in pairs.

Free Practice (7-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Students mingle to discuss about songs and the musical instruments they can play,the one( s ) they played in the past.They will also speak about thje music competition they attended in the past.
