Description

In this lesson, I will be teaching the present continuous for future arrangements. I will be using google jamboard and google forms to achieve this .

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Students will be asked to talk about what they did on New Years Day in groups for 5 mins

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Students will be given a text for a gist task and will come up with a title for the title. They wil be given a clarification of the grammar in the txt

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-15 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

For my controlled practice, I will give students a task where they will match the correct sentences . They will have about 6 minutes to complete the task and early finishers will have another exercise if they finish early. They will then peer assess and then open class feed back.

Post-Reading/Listening (5-6 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Freer practice, students will answer exercise 2 on pg 37 which is based on the controlled practice and the students will be grouped for this task.
