Description

Students will learn vocabulary in the context of education. The lesson will start with pre-teaching vocabulary task by eliciting, CCQ, drilling, and writing. Each word will be in a slide. Students will answer the questions in task 7a page 66 then task b on the same page. After that they will match the questions from task a with the subjects in task b in groups which is the half of task c. Then they will do task 2a.A. where they fill the right words in the blank and task 2c where they also fill in the blank page 161 but through listening to audio records. At the end, students will do freer task which is speaking task page 66 where students talk in groups about their subjects and home works.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T greets Ss. T prepares Ss for the topic by projecting a picture of school and asking questions. T projects another picture of school tools like desks and whiteboard for Ss and asks them to answer CCQ questions. Ss guess the context through pictures and question.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Ss read questions of task 1a p. 66 that are general information of different tasks and discuss their answers in groups for 2 minutes. Ss report their answers to T and check them together. Ss do task 1b p. 66 in groups for 2 minutes. Ss report answers to T. Ss match questions in 1a with subjects in b with T. T shows the answer key.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

T asks Ss what they think they will learn today and give them choices. T confirms that they will be learning new vocabulary.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

T projects the new 7 vocabulary and do the procedure 1 by 1. T elicits each vocabulary and checks if Ss knows it. T do CCQ for the new vocabulary. Ss drills the new vocabulary. Ss check the spelling of the new vocabulary.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Ss do practice 2a A. p. 66 in groups where they fill the suitable words in the gap for 6 minutes. Ss report their answers to T. T shows the answer key.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Ss do practice 2c p. 161 where the fill the suitable vocabulary in the gap for 4 minutes. Ss listen to recorded audio and check. T shows the answer key.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

T gives instructions about how to do the speaking task page 66. Ss do freer practice page 66 where they talk about their subjects and homework for 5 minutes. Ss report their peer's answers to T. T checks for questions from Ss. T wishes them great day.
