Description

The students will learn about travelling through listening to guided audio records. The lesson will start by learning some vocabulary necessary for the lesson.. This is followed by listening practices where the students hear an audio about a travel quiz and circle the right answer and in groups share their answers together. At the end, there will be short group work where students can discuss and compare their answer to the listening task.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T shows students pictures about travelling students guess the vocab suitable for each picture. which are: self-catering apartment, sightseeing, seasons, local dishes. plane, hotel

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

teacher shows students pictures for students to make up a story about a woman who travels to turkey and goes sightseeing. the teacher show's some pictures and students make up the story.

listening for gest (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

SS listen to the audio record.(7.2) and answer the question 2 section 3A: are they good travel partners? students share their answers with T.

Listening for details (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

SS listen to the audio record again and answer question 2B page 68. students share their answers in groups. students share answers with T.

Follow up (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

SS talk about their experience with travelling. students are given three minutes to think and write notes if they want then share their stories with the teacher.
