In this lesson, students learn about ‘’No more exam’’ related vocabulary. First, ask Ss to work on their own and make notes on the future plans of their family and friends. Put the Ss into groups. Ss take turns telling their parents about the future plans of their family and friends. This activity reviews future plans with be going to. Give Ss a few moments to think of three things they are going to do tomorrow evening and three things they aren’t going to do. Ss do the activity in pairs. Ask each pair to share any plans they both have with the class

Procedure

Lead-In (3-4 minutes) • To create interest in the topic

T. focus Ss on the vocabulary box and establish that all the words are connected with studying. Give Ss a few minutes to think of three things they are going to do tomorrow evening and three things they aren’t going to do. Ss do the activity in pairs. T. asks each pair to share any plans they both have with the class.

Stage 1 (5-8 minutes) • To focus on vocabulary

Focus Ss on the vocabulary box and establish that all the words are connected with studying. Ss work in pairs to fill the gaps in the diagram with the words/ phrases in the box. Check answer with the class. Tell Ss that college is any place you go when you are over 16 to get qualifications and training, for example, teacher training college, art college, etc. Point out that we can only get a degree when we finish university. We get a qualification when we pass any official exam. Model and drill the phrase.

Stage 4 (5-8 minutes) • To give Ss practice in listening for specific information in the text.

Ex.2 Check Ss remember ‘’celebrate’’. Ss discuss the questions in groups. Ask Ss to share interesting answers with the class. Listening and grammar Ex.3 a Focus Ss on the photos. Establish that Tim, Debbie, Sid and Clare have just finished their final university exams. Note that in Britain universities, Ss generally study full-time for three or four years and have important exam (called ‘’finals’’) at the end of the course. The results of these exam determine what class of degree they get. Focus Ss on the words in the box, then play the recording. Ss listen and tick the things that the people talk about. Check answers with the class.
