  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a story telling practice

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Greeting/the T tells ss he is upset because he has been using his phone to learn a new language but now his phone has a problem then he asks the ss what they use their phones for? The ss pair up and talk about it then they change their groups and report to the other groups what they have talked about The T nominates a few students to get the feedback

Pre teach • teach blocking words neccessary to understand the task

Pre teaching firsr gives them the meaning then elicits the wods then CCQ after that drilling and then boards the words first elicits the word Hang up CCQ : do we finish or start a conversation? quiet zone/can we talk in a quiet zone? Is a library one ? The T shows some pictures and asks students which word does the picture demonestrate

Clarification (6-8 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Clarification and teaching The T draws the ss attention to the book and the listening task where people are using their phone and they should match the speaker to the a sentencethe T plays the audio twice and students check their answers in pairs or groups then the t tells them to check under their desk where the answers are written on a sticky note. Then they discuss the next part whether they know the words or not the provides the needed clarification .

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Practice #1 : The T gives ss a handout and students have to match the words to a sentence they do the task individually and compare their answers then they check their answers .while doing the task the T monitors them discreetly.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Practice #2 : Ss are asked to make up a story using at least 4 words from the previous parts the T models the task by giving them an example of his own /ICQ how many words are you gonna use ? will you write a story or a conversation ? then ss share their stories with other groups and they read it the vote for the best story and choose a winner

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Practice #3 Gallery walk / the ss are paired up and get up and start circling around the classroom where the questions have been put on the wall The T plays an instrumental song and tells them to ask and answer all the questions on the walls the T circles around and provide guidance if needed. Ss return to their seats and asks the questions : have any of you Lost your phone/Sent a message to the wrong person/Forgot to turn off your phone with embarrassing result?
