Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1. Ask Ss to share in the zoom chat about the first time they did something. Display questions and elicit: My first college was UNAM, because they had the major of my interest...Use the question: “What was your first college choice? When did you first choose what to study in college? When did you first fall in love at first sight?

Exposure (2-4 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

2. I tell learners we will check a story. I share the link for the activity: https://forms.gle/7GRfWwphmBCz7kuu8 Learners read and answer individually. They compare answers in pairs, then OCFB

Highlighting (3-8 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

After finishing, learners must compare answers (break out rooms). I monitor, and based after that I do an open class feedback

Clarification (2-4 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

I perform MFP using a designed ppt: 1) I tell meaning was on the form. 2) Talk about that we have to remember what is a collocation. 3) I tell students that, as they see on the table, the form is first with a noun. 4) I check pronunciation: stress: I highlight with zoom platform tool

Controlled Practice (3-6 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

1) Tell learners we will do an activity in which they will have to use some allocations to change meaning in a sentence. 2) I share the form...https://forms.gle/m6fiPcGDF7WpyxHw6 3) I elicit 1 answer... Ask learners to recall answers (take a picture)

Peer-feedback (and open class) (2-5 minutes) • Have Students check progress and then, confirm in OCFB

1) Learners check answers in pairs 2) I do OCFB, correcting bad answers by focusing peer correction, and not direct answers

Free Practice (3-6 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Tell learners they will talk now about COVID. Show questions: What are your first impressions on the pandemic management by governments around the world? What’s the first-choice you are going to take after the confinement? Why? Do you know what is the first-aid assistance to a COVID-19 patient? What do you think the protocol is? Elicit an answer on the last one First of all... Tell them they should first write about it (50 words minimum by answer) on the zoom chat.
