Description

In this lesson, students will watch a video made by a travel blogger who has been to Northa dn South Korea. In this video, the traveler talks about both countries while comparing them to each other. Then, the teacher and the students will discuss the video and answer some questions.Later on, the students will write a short paragraph ( a brochure) to suggest what a tourist would do in their city/country.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Students are going to guess the countries that will be shown in the next activity

Exposure (20-25 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Students will be watching a 18-minute video about a traveler's trip to North and South Korea. The title of the video is: My life in North Korea VS South korea. Before watching the video, the teacher asks the students to take notes (of anything relevant) while listening: write about what are the differences between both countries. After watching: What are the differences pinpointed by the traveler? How was North Korea depicted? Cam you use some the adjectives ye have seen in the previous video? How was SK depicted? what is your opinion?

Free Practice (15-20 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Topic: you work in a travel agency at the airport, and an English couple approached your desk to ask for your help. They need some pieces of advice that will help during their stay in Ukraine. In pairs, think about the pieces of information that you will provide to assist this English couple. - Accommodation - The best way to travel from one place to another - The main things to see in each place and why they are interesting ( describe places) - Food - Things to avoid

Discussion (8-10 minutes) • Discuss their works

each pair of students will go on breakout rooms to meet another pair and discuss the tour they have designed.
