Description

In this session students are going to learn about simple present tense .the aim is how they can use present tense correctly especially when they want to speak about their daily routine .The lesson starts with a short video in which a man speaks about his routine .Finally students learn some new daily actions and at the end of the class they can easily speak about their schedule time.

Main Aims

  • To provide detailed listening practice using a text about Daily routine in the context of schedule time

Procedure

warm up (3-7 minutes) • to introduce the subject to students

Ss watch a short movie for once at the first. after that I ask some questions e.g :what is his job ? where is he working right now?

Exposure (10-15 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through pictures and reading texts.

All Ss receive some pictures which show them different actions and I try to elicit some information and pre -teach blocking words through the photos. e g: I tell them the difference between do house work and do home work . Next I ask them some questions: when do you do your home work ? who does house work at your home? and I ask them to compare their answers with their partners. Finally they should say that which of the activities in the photo they do as a daily routine.

Highlighting (10-15 minutes) • to draw Ss' attention to new actions and blocking words

I will play a video and pause it and ask them to repeat after speaker I give them some pictures and ask them to speak about their daily routine according to pictures students receive a hand out in which there are some new vocabulary and gaps they should fill in the blanks with correct one.

Controlled practice (5-8 minutes) • to concept check

Ss receive a hand out in which writer writes about her activities during the week Then there are some true -false question that students should answer them and I will check their answer as well at the end.

Semi-controlled practice (5-10 minutes) • check ss' concept again and prepare for free practice

Ss should circle around the activities that they do in their schedule time in the text . After that they need to speak with their partners and try to guess about their partners activities.

Free practice (3-5 minutes) • to improve their fluency

I ask them to change their partners and speak about their first partner's routine with new partner I monitor them and try to write down every mistakes that they make and at the end of speaking I tell them their mistakes.
