Main Aims

  • To provide practice the months of the year in telling their birthday month.
  • To provide practice the months of the year and how SS use them for telling their birthday's month. To understand and use the adverbs of frequency ( e.g always, sometimes,...)

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice the new vocabulary ( months of the year ) . To practice making sentences using adverbs of frequency. To improve their awareness of months and adverbs of frequency.


Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T greets Ss T show a picture related to the months. T asks the Ss to say what this picture refer to. T encourage Ss to guess what is the lesson about.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of the task and highlight useful words and phrases

Ss listen to the audio of the months. T write the difficult months on the board. Ss elicit some of adverbs of frequency.

Task (8-10 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

T focus on the pronunciation of the months. T asks Ss to give sentences include adverbs of frequency.

Planning (6-8 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to plan students' reports

T make sure how do his plan make Ss check they have understood. T set up a speaking activity clearly and efficiently. T make sure that his aims clear.

Report (6-8 minutes) • To allow students to report on how they did the task and how it went
