In this lesson, students will learn how to build a present simple question using Wh question. The lesson will start by illustrating what/when do we use present simple.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

- T greets Ss. - T asks Ss present simple questions. - T asks Ss when do we use present simple.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

- T explains to Ss about ASI - T Elicits the meaning of every question word. - T demonstrates the usage of QuASI

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

- T helps Ss to remember the correct word order. QuASI

Clarification (2-4 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

- T double-checks that Ss know which auxiliary verb is used with what subject.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

- Ss answer exercise 2 ' word order in questions' in pairs. - T checks Ss answer.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

- T explains exercise 3. - Ss answer the question word exercise in pairs. - In exercise 5, T elicits "do you" with a strong a strong student. Do you work? Where ______ work? - Ss answer the exercise in turns.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

- T put Ss in pairs A,B to have a conversation using the groups in exercise 5. - If there is an odd number, then make a group of three. ( strong student )
