lead-in (5-7 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students.

1- show ss different pictures of Evgeny on the board. 2- Elicit some changes that happened to the person. 3- Ask ss to discuss what habits they did in the past and now they give up.

Exposure (6-8 minutes) • To contextualize the target language.

1- Discuss the pic of the man in the present Elicit sentences in the present simple ( he is poor / he sleeps on the streets / he only drinks water / he eats food from dustbins.) 2- Discuss the pic of the man in the past , the students realize that these things were true but not now.Elicit sentences ( He used to be rich / he used to live in a big house / he used to eat Caviar / he used to drive a Ferrari ) 3- Elicit the sentence he did not use to have a beard to clarify the negative form. 4-Ask them to think about some sentences about Tomas . 5- Ask them to think about things that were true of themselves in the past, ask them discuss in pairs. 6- Monitor them to help . 7- Give feedback.
