In this lesson students learn about new vocabulary which enable them to talk about their likes and dislikes.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification, practice and review of Daily activities in the context of Likes and dislike in daily activities.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a Conversation in the context of Likes and dislike in daily activities.


Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T will engage the Ls with photos and T will give just a clue what Ls have to do . T will show some photos and will ask Ls about them. T : Do you like ( the subject of photo) ? L : Yes I do./No I don't. ** 1-2 minutes** T will ask Ls to do the same in pair by following the instruction below with do modeling : T : Do you like ( the subject of photo) ? L : Yes I do./No I don't. ******Note: T must insist on short answer. ICQs: 1-Will you speak or write ? (Speak) 2-Will you do it with your friend? (Yes) **2-3 minutes**

Test #1 (8-10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

T will give them the meaning of 5-7 new words . T will ask learners to do the exercise 1 and will give them the instruction: Q:Match the photos with activities below. T will modeling the path with one or two activity and Ls do the rest in pair. T will check Ls by ICQs: 1-Will you write the numbers? (yes ) 2-Will you do it with your friend ?(yes) ******Note: T must balance the pairs (top student and weak student in one pair) T will monitor the learners and lead them if it's necessary. **** 4-5 minutes**** T will give Ls the answer. T will drill the new words for 2-3 times(with clear pronunciation ,correct word stress & sentence stress) . ******4-5 minutes*******

Teach (11-14 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

T will ask learners to write down some words related to the activities in the table. e.g : Salsa dancing , cooking fish near the river, etc. 3-4 minutes T will make group for Ls to share their words . ICQs: 1-will you do it with your friends ? (yes) *****4-5 minutes***** T will monitor the Ls and will lead them if it"s necessary. T will ask Ls to share their vocabulary with class S-SS in by following the instruction below: L 1 Salsa dancing,cooking near the river. L 2 , L3 etc. T will monitor them and lead them when it's necessary . ******4-5 minutes*****.

Test #2 (6-8 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

T will give the instruction of exercise 2 and will ask Ls to work in pair. T will modeling the exercise for the students and will ask them to do the same.3-4 minutes ICQs : 1-Will you do it alone ? ( no) 2-Will you speak or write? (speak) T will monitor them while doing exercise and lead them when it's necessary. **3-4 minutes**

FEEDBACK (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

T will ask Ls to do exercise 2 but now using the words in table and their own words . T will drill them while using the vocabularies of the main aim which are in the box. T will lead Ls to combine previous lesson( question and answer +&-) T will write some mistakes and correct them without pointing to anybody at the end T will give them new words to find the meaning for next session as a homework. T will introduce them a good dictionary . 8-10 minutes
